QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
ELVIS C is a cochlear implant designed to restore hearing to people with hearing loss, including the deaf and deaf–blind.
ELVIS C provides direct electrical stimulation of the auditory nerve, which enables patients to perceive sounds and improves communication in everyday life
The implant is designed for people who suffer from various forms of deafness as well as those who are deaf–blind, providing the ability to perceive sounds that were previously inaccessible.
The procedure involves surgery to insert the device, after which the patient undergoes rehabilitation to adapt to the new hearing function.
Because ELVIS C directly stimulates the human auditory nerve, it enables people to hear even with severe hearing loss where conventional hearing aids are ineffective.
Rehabilitation time can vary depending on the individual patient, but usually involves several months of working with an audiologist and rehabilitation specialists.
As with any surgical procedure, ELVIS C implant placement can have risks, including infection, reaction to anaesthesia, or technical problems with the device. All potential risks are discussed with your doctor before the procedure.
The ELVIS C cochlear implant is provided under the OMC system and is therefore free of charge for Russian citizens.
